I eat, therefore I am

As a new townie the first order of business is to replace all my old hangouts with some new ones; where do I get my fish? Where do I buy sushi? What's my hardware store? Fruit market? Place to sate my jonesing for a scone? In the months since arriving I've found many a local source, save one - where to get a superior burger. In Detroit the ultimate "beef on a bun" is had at Joey's Meatcutter's Inn in Eastern Market. There, 1/4, 1/2/ 3/4 or 1lb of perfectly seasoned hunk of ground beef (so fresh you'd swear you taste grass) is cooked to your specs and servered with fries for about six bucks.

So far, no luck in the search. I've hit about 10 local joints, from Zingerman's Roadhouse to a couple of sports bars to some new chains like Famous and Great Lakes. Still looking after all this time. Therefore, I've decided to blog my search here, sharing the results of my quest in hopes of soon finding that irresistible local burger.

Caveat, eat-or!
